Homework Policy

I believe that homework is an important tool to help students master new concepts and practice skills already taught. Homework reinforces lessons learned in class which also prepares them for upcoming concepts and ideas. When a student completes homework they learn responsibility, independence, and develop good study habits.

Each student will receive a homework folder to keep track of assignments.

Homework may be issued Monday through Thursday and must be completed and turned in the following morning. If a student chooses to not complete the homework he or she may lose privileges.

An assignment that is late due to absence is extended for the same amount of days absent. If a student requires an excuse from completing homework assignments, a parent must send a singed and dated note stating the reason the assignment cannot be completed.

Parents play a key role in making homework a positive experience for their children. Please make homework a priority and provide a quiet work place with the necessary supplies. Set aside a specific time, offer praise and support for their efforts, but please allow your child to do the work for themselves.

Thank you for your cooperation.
